As we grow our team, we are committed to creating a workforce that reflects the communities we serve, and fostering a workplace where every employee feels valued, finds a place of belonging, and brings their authentic self to work.ABOUT THE SENIOR OFFICER, SIGNATURE PARTNERSHIPS AND EVENTSA crucial member of the Signature Partnerships & Events team, the Sr. Officer (SO), works in partnership with the Director and a peer SO to steward corporate partners, primarily through the execution of corporate volunteer projects and events. In addition, the SO works with the team to create a culture of stewardship among the coordinators by educating and training the team to raise awareness about stewardship practices to deliver exceptional relationship management. By building a culture of responsibility and a shared commitment to these goals, the SO and team will deliver effective and impactful in-person projects.The SO will manage a team of 2 full-time Coordinators and up to 2 seasonal staff. The SO will manage ongoing relationships with our corporate partners including successful execution of our corporate projects. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong team management skills that foster a collaborative environment, corporate engagement experience, comfort planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously, exhibit flexibility, effective communication skills, and the ability to interact fluidly with a variety of stakeholders. The SO will support the Director by informing the strategy of Signature Partnerships & Events, and by reinforcing a strong stewardship culture with the coordinators in support of execution of organization wide signature programming.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & Administrative ManagementDirectly manage 2-3 staff members, setting clear goals, offering training and professional development opportunities, and providing useful feedback to motivate staff toward performance excellence. Provide professional development to junior staff coordinators in relationship management and event planning.Collaborate with the finance team to ensure invoices are created and payments made promptly.Corporate Stewardship, Volunteer Engagement & ExperienceSteward relationships with a high degree of excellency with corporate contacts to maintain and grow funding partnerships.Lead the team in managing multiple concurrent signature and corporate events, adhering to timelines, and driving toward meaningful experiences for community partners and corporate volunteers. Act as site leadership during corporate volunteer service events, as needed. Strengthen the Purpose & Scalability of Corporate Projects & Signature EventsSupport project planning, production, and execution models in collaboration with Director, Signature Partnerships & Events, and leadership in Community Relations and Program Design (CRPD). Support Director, Signature Partnerships & Events, and leadership in Corporate Relations to align project productivity with staff capacity. Work with Director to engage volunteers in large-scale signature service events that target specific community population needs (i.e., Coat Drive, Winter Wishes, Stand w/ Students, backpacking kits, 9/11 Day of Service).QUALIFICATIONSEssential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Relationship Management Adept relationship management skills, easily and quickly building rapport and trust with stakeholders while managing conflict with empathy and diplomacyExcellent collaboration skills, works with Director toward win/win solutions to accomplish strategic goals.Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the demonstrated ability to influence outcomes. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with communities of diverse cultures and maintain a continued awareness of racial and social justice issues.Leadership and People Management Minimum 2+ years' people management experience with demonstrated ability to drive a team towards performance excellence. Demonstrated experience establishing clear goals, managing team workflow, and providing professional development and useful feedback to motivate performance. Ability to lead a diverse staff, and promote a work culture that is engaging, inclusive, and respectful of diverse thoughts and experiencesOther Essential Skills and Abilities Ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. Experience using , QuickBooks, Mailchimp, Canva, and/or similar technical systems preferred. Demonstrates discretion when working with sensitive, confidential information.Strong organizational and administrative skills. Proven ability to manage high-volume-high intensity workloads with competing priorities and meet deadlines. Live within a 2-hour commutable distance to New York City. Able to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 by hire date.COMPENSATIONThe salary for this role is $72,000-$79,000.Salary is just one component of New York Cares' total compensation package.
