THIS POSITION WILL PRIMARILY WORK 3:00PM to 11:30PMPosition Description:Performs functions to direct and coordinate the activities and workflow of several production lines with full accountability for results in terms of costs, methods, quality and quantity of production, operations and personnel.Primary Responsibilities:Collaborates with various departments and personnel to minimize or eliminate down timeProvides support to operations through creative problem solving, adaptation, and working with all departments to correct problems in order to maximum plant efficiencyEnsures all products are manufactured in compliance with approved specificationsSuggests and implements process improvements, which will increase safety and quality, while reducing costsProvides status reports to the Director of Operations and other senior managers including any safety, personnel, process, or maintenance issues that have occurredEnsures processes are compliant with company, state, and federal regulatory agencies' policies and requirementsCoordinates, communicates and follows up on mechanical needs and repairs of maintenance staff necessary on your shift to keep operations running and assist mechanics in completing repairs when requiredCoordinates personnel to most effectively work together, especially during times when multiple issues are occurring simultaneouslyMakes process decisions including shutting down if necessary and when to contact the appropriate department manager or call in additional personnelContributes to the company's continuous improvement program by providing unsolicited recommendations for improving any and all areas operationsLearns the process operations at front line levels and provide active involvement with training hourly personnel.Performs other functions as assignedSupervisory/Management Responsibilities:Hires, fires, coaches, counsels, and motivates staffResponsible for supervising and directing employees, including production supervisors, operators, mechanics, technicians, and laborersAssists with administration of timecards and approval of time off requestsOversees employee participation and adherence to food safety and employee safety programs and policiesManages staff by orienting and training employees on company rules, safety, and job functions, including new process workflows and designsGuides the enforcement of systems, policies, and procedures consistently and fairlyResolves personnel issues in accordance with company guidelines and policies and participate in union grievance meetings as necessaryRequirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience5 - 7 years of manufacturing experience3 - 5 years of management or leadership experiencePrevious experience with OSHA regulations, USDA preferredProficient with computers, specifically Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of ERP system functionality preferredCompetencies:Analytical Thinking: The ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic sequential approach.Interpersonal Influence: Able to help people rapidly become comfortable with him/her; rapidly assess and understand the individual style preferences of the key people in the customer's organization; and rapidly adapt to the preferences of the customer.Drive for Results: Dedicated to achieving the best results by taking a dynamic approach to work, perseveres and uses metrics to analyze performance.Innovation: Able to see ways of adding value to the customer in current and new products.Action Orientation: Maintaining a sense of urgency to complete a task.
