HDT Bio is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher who has recently completed a Ph.D. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Taishi Kimura on a newly awarded NIH/NIAID R01 grant. This project, building on our recently published work (Kimura et al., 2023 Mol Ther., PMID: 37403357; Warner et al., 2024 Sci Transl Med., PMID: 39110777), focuses on the mechanisms by which innate immune signals positively and negatively modulate adaptive immune responses in the muscle local microenvironment where HDT's vaccines are commonly administered. The research aims to advance the basic understanding of the muscle tissue's role in the induction of adaptive immunity and to further develop HDTs self-amplifying replicon RNA vaccine technology.Candidates with prior experience in flow cytometry, mouse handling, T-cell response analysis, and virus infection models will be given top priority. The successful candidate is expected to publish their findings in high-impact journals and is encouraged to apply for fellowship programs. Principal Responsibilities:Conduct research using mouse models, including handling, breeding, dosing, conducting infection studies.Operate and maintain flow cytometry equipment and analyze related data.Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret findings.Perform and manage experiments involving ABSL2/ABSL2+ virus infection models, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including immunologists, virologists, molecular biologists, and formulation scientists.Present research findings in team meetings and at national/international conferences.Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.Qualifications:Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.Strong background in vaccine research and/or immunology.Experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, virus infection models, and mouse models.Experience with ABSL2/ABSL2+ infection models is highly preferred but not required.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.Strong track record of scientific productivity (e.g., publications).Education/Experience:Ph.D.This summary describes a portion of the essential functions/responsibilities of this position.
