Their main responsibilities include:Developing and implementing sourcing strategies to meet the company's needs.Identifying and negotiating with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.Managing supplier relationships to maintain quality and reliability.Monitoring market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.Must-haves:Bachelor's Degree and real world experience (Science, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical, Business Administration or related)10+ years of total sourcing experience; 6 years of DIRECT sourcing experience at LEAST (not ideal but a few years can include indirect sourcing experience)Knowledge/ experience in the Pharmaceutical IndustryExperience / background in the following: contract management, supplier relationship management, market assessments (RFI/RFP), negotiation, risk evaluation. and change management.Demonstrated proficiency in the following: demand management; market and supply analysis; negotiation; total cost of ownership, saving, and NPV; project management; delivering against commitmentsDemonstrated experience in collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timeline.Plusses: Experience with sourcing in the Pharmaceutical Industry/ spaceCompliance mindset and experienceDay-to-Day A large pharmaceutical client in Ridgefield, CT is looking for a Sourcing Manager II to sit onsite in Ridgefield, CT. This employee will be joining the US Sales and Marketing - Sourcing Department that involves one manager and a team of 7 other sourcers. This team supports the sourcing for the company and Sales and Marketing team. This position will be hybrid with 2-3 days onsite in Ridgefield, CT. This employee will be responsible for implementing corporate led category strategies for fast paced complex, marketing & sales categories within the local US organization. They will bring potential innovation to the company and local market intelligence, identify, evaluate, and classify sourcing risks and devise risk mitigation measures as well as manage risk exposure. They will also identify and evaluate existing and potential local suppliers as well as the establishment and maintenance of supplier relations and use business review meeting and KPI leverage to resolve potential issues at an early stage. In addition, this candidate will manage local business partners actively and collaborate to align common goals, coordinate business partner demands within sourcing and ensure that relevant . They will also ensure the business partner is adequately supported. Also, the candidate will optimize buying channels and leverage market opportunities, leverage sourcing tools (including e-sourcing or reverse-auction, parallel negotiation, etc.) negotiate, review, and execute contracts. They will maximize usage of Master Services Agreements (MSAs) or Frame Services Agreements (FSAs) as possible. Some other responsibilities will include overseeing the supplier performance management program for assigned categories, incorporating supplier diversity in assigned categories, potentially leading and driving regional sourcing projects, as well as coaching on sourcing policies and procedures. The training process will be about a month or so but the candidate should have most tools in their belt to be able to fly independently shortly after training.
