The RoleLocation: Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaReports To:Board of DirectorsDirect Reports: Senior Director of Population Health, Senior Director of Children, Youth and Families Division, Senior Director of Training and Organizational Development, Senior Director of Finance and Operations, Senior Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Director of Behavioral Health IntegrationPosition SummaryThe CEO provides executive leadership and oversight including implementation of organizational strategy and adherence to mission; development and maintenance of external relationships to include but not limited to member organizations, funders, and program partners; maintenance of organizational culture, growth, financial stability, reputation and integrity; and overall accountability for the effective and efficient operation of the organization and its use of resources.The CEO works closely with the Board and HFP's experienced team of 100 staff members to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. The new leader oversees a $56M budget.HFP is a strong, well-respected and financially sound organization in Philadelphia. This CEO position is a unique opportunity for an experienced candidate to lead an organization that is working to affect the quality of care for marginalized and underserved populations. The CEO will inherit a strong, engaged, committed and extremely knowledgeable team of public health professionals. The team takes pride in knowing their work is impactful and improves the lives of others.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and/or oversee and be accountable for all internal policies, procedures, standards of operation, and adherence to mission.Assure compliance with regulatory agencies that impact the organization.Lead the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan and ensure its adherence to the plan's goals.Embrace and advocate for the breadth and diversity of the organization's programs, partnerships, and areas of expertise (/programs).Maintain high level, current knowledge of trends in the public and community health sector.Develops the organization's strategic plan in concert with the Board of Director and staff.Organizational and Team LeadershipProvides inspirational leadership and management of the staff; builds a knowledgeable, effective and trustworthy team, creating continuous opportunities for growth and development for work; works to development continuity plans across the organization.Establish and maintain an organizational culture that supports diversity, equity, inclusion, professional growth and retention of staff.Assesses and evaluates existing as well as emerging programs on an on-going basis and recommends changes as needed.Demonstrates leadership, expertise, and vision by helping to identify new, more effective ways to provide services.Financial LeadershipEnsure the financial health and integrity of the organization in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Finance and Operations.Oversee the development of an annual plan and budget for the organization; ensures that the organization operates within approved budget and plan guidelines.Ensure that the organization has an annual audit; review the findings and ensure that deficiencies are addressed, and recommendations are given due consideration.Board RelationsMaintain open lines of communication and coordination with the Board of Directors and provide staff support to Board operations as needed.Work closely with the Board of Director to set the vision for HFP.Ensures that the representation on the Board is aligned with and reflective of HFP's scope of work.External LeadershipEstablish positive and collaborative relationships with external organizations and funders in the public and private sectors to advance the goals and mission of HFP.Serves as the face of the organization and actively networks and participates in external events to build relationships and increase visibility.Engages with elected officials and builds legislative relationships.Candidate Profile:Professional ExperienceMinimum 10 years of experience in a non-profit, human service, health/public health, social services or similar field with evidence of professional growth.Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as head of an organization, division or large department.Strong understanding of the health care system; federally qualified health centers, CMS, Medicaid, and the City Health DepartmentOutstanding relationship building skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders, both individuals and organizations, to accomplish goals and managed expectations.Superior people management and leadership skills; proven ability to develop, supervise and motivate a diverse staff.Experienced team builder and leader of high performing and dedicated professionals; ability to work with a staff from various backgrounds and experiences; able to encourage and motivate others.Track record of working collaboratively with a Board of Directors on strategic planning and mission execution.Strong financial management skills; experience creating annual operating budgets that support strategic objectives;
