Job Summary:Responsible for providing analytical support for warehouse operations, primarily through analysis of operations metrics and providing information on warehouse performance, compliance with regulatory requirements, assisting with drafting and implementing standard operating procedures and working on various warehouse projects. The position works across all distribution centers (DCs) and provides information and action plans. This position is also responsible for working with security, safety and quality assurance to ensure compliance with FDA food safety and OSHA regulations within all distribution centers. This position will also assist with developing and implementing standard operating procedures.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for maintaining and reporting on warehouse activity related systems such as Temperature monitoring of DC freezers and coolers, material handling equipment (MHE) activity & compliance, warehouse management systems (WMS) and any future systems with the goal of gaining efficiencies and consistencies.Work with security, safety and quality assurance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and OSHA.Monitor warehouse metrics (i.e. warehouse case productivity, expense control, inventory management, etc.). Tracks and reports on trends that need attention performance action plans.Support the Director of Warehouse Operations in exploring avenues of additional revenue generation, operations savings programs (i.e. gas) and best practices in the industry.Work on improving warehouse floor plans and layouts with the goal of increasing efficiencies and operations.Collaborate with the real estate department when securing or moving to ensure the new space can handle DC projected case volume and demand.Work on various warehouse projects as assigned from the leadership team.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelors degree in distribution, logistics or business. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.Minimum of three (3) years warehouse experience in a distribution environment, preferably food related.In-depth knowledge of FDA food safety, OSHA and any other regulatory requirements.Previous experience writing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).Evidence of experience providing work direction to warehouse colleagues and management when colleagues do not have a reporting relationship.Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills that results in recommendations based on data and sound business judgement.Proof of ability to build and maintain professional relationships that result in cohesive partnering on projects and work operations.Highly developed written, verbal and presentation communication skills with the ability to effectively communication to a wide audience.Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and warehouse management system or related software.Ability to deal ambiguity and time sensitive issues quickly.Demonstrates self-motivation with the ability to work under little guidance.Working Conditions:This position requires travel to DCs up to 50% of the time and the ability to adhere to corporate travel policies.This position will require travel using a variety of transportation modes, including a tractor-trailer when accompanying a driver on delivery routes.This position requires the ability to work in warehouse environments, that vary in temperature zones, including coolers and freezers.All items listed above are illustrative and not comprehensive.
