We are looking to hire a full-time Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team!This position will cover two sites within a few miles of each otherBasic Job Functions:The EHS Manager is responsible for monitoring operations and working directly with department managers and supervisors to eliminate potential hazards. Establishes and enforces policies to promote EHS spects facilities to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards. Recommends corrective or preventative measures to promote and create a healthy and safe workplace. The EHS Manager will ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, standards, and organizational policies to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.Essential Functions of the Job:Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant EHS laws and standards.Program Development and Implementation:Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures (i.e., Lockout-tagout, respiratory protection, mobile equipment, etc.)Conduct risk assessments and establish safety protocols to mitigate hazards and prevent injuriesAssist the plant to manage EHS action items.Training and Education:Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.Promote a culture of safety through ongoing education and awareness initiatives.Incident Investigation and Reporting:Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses.Prepare and submit necessary reports and documentation to regulatory agencies.Track all plant incidents and perform analysis to determine trends and actions to address.Auditing and Monitoring:Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify and correct unsafe behaviors and conditions and identify areas for improvement.Leads by example in preventative safety activities such as submitting near misses, behavior-based safety (BBS) observations, and coaching others to identify and report hazardsProvide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace environment.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote EHS best practices.Communicate EHS policies and procedures clearly and effectively.Lead the Plant Safety Committee and train others in the organization to be contributing members of the safety committeeEmergency Preparedness:Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.Conduct drills and training to prepare employees for emergency situations.Environmental Compliance:Familiar with EPA and State environmental requirements (DEP) requirements for air, water and waste.Leads the plant stormwater pollution prevention teamAssists the EHS Director in gathering needed information for required reportsOtherPerform all other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements of the Job:Driven and determined to prevent injuries.Diligent with an analytical mind.Previous experience in manufacturing of personal care, over-the-counter, or medical device industries preferred.In-depth understanding of OSHA standards, program development, implementation, training programs, and practices.Able to effectively use a computer in a business setting (i.e., Microsoft Office, etc.)Strong communication and advisory skills.Physical Requirements:Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes, or alarms). Capable of walking, standing and/or sitting for extended periods of timeCapable of climbing steps and laddersCapable of bending, stoopingAble to properly lift 25 pounds.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoTravel: Occasional local travelEducation and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, engineering, or a related field is preferred.Previous experience in manufacturing of personal care, over-the-counter, or medical device industries preferred.5 -7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in EHS, EHS management or a similar role.Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulationsExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutionsAble to work with, communicate, and influence other managers without direct supervision
