DescriptionThe Strategic Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the companys end-to-end procurement process. This role will ensure that all sourcing, supply chain, and logistics activities align with the company's strategic goals for efficiency, cost savings, speed and quality. You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to drive effective procurement strategies, maintain operational excellence, and support business growth in a light manufacturing and distribution environment. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure cost-effective and reliable suppliersNegotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to achieve the best value for the businessIdentify and onboard new suppliers to diversify sourcing options and mitigate risksConduct market analysis to stay informed of supply trends, pricing, and potential supplier risksOversee the supply chain process to ensure the timely delivery of materials and components to meet production schedulesMonitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, optimizing for cost and efficiencyCollaborate with cross-functional teams (production, planning, finance) to align procurement plans with operational needsDrive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product qualityIdentify potential supply chain risks, including geopolitical factors, supplier reliability, and transportation issues, and develop mitigation plansImplement procurement best practices to ensure regulatory compliance, including sustainability and ethical sourcing initiativesBe the primary POC and knowledge expert for materials reporting for regulatory agencies, customers, partners or vendors Implement and leverage procurement & logistics technology and software to streamline activities, efficiencies and data analysisLogistics Management:Manage logistics partners and ensure the timely, cost-effective movement of goods from suppliers to the manufacturing site and onward to distribution centers or customersOptimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve delivery timesAddress any logistics issues or disruptions and develop contingency plans for critical supply shortages or delaysEnsure compliance with shipping regulations and international trade policiesVendor Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and favorable termsLead regular supplier performance evaluations and develop improvement plans where necessaryFoster a collaborative environment between internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive innovation and value creationCost Control & Budgeting:Monitor and report on procurement costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary limits and cost-saving initiativesDrive cost reduction strategies while maintaining quality and service standardsDevelop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track procurement effectiveness, efficiency, and supplier performanceAnalyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for process improvementQualifications & Skills:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field7-10+ years of procurement and supply chain management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environmentProven track record of driving efficiencies, cost savings and process improvements in procurement and logisticsExperience with international sourcing, customs regulations, and logistics managementStrong negotiations, analytical, and communication skillsFamiliarity with procurement, logistics software and ERP systemsAbility to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentThis role is critical to ensuring that the supply chain remains resilient, cost-efficient, and responsive to the demands of a dynamic manufacturing and distribution business.
