ERSG is currently looking for a Site Based Planner for a leading global provider of wind power products and service solutions. This position will be based in New London, Connecticut.Position Overview Employment Type: Contract (at least 2 years with the opportunity of contract extensions or to become a direct employee). Geographic Location: New London, Connecticut, USA (unfortunately no relocation package is available). Travel: There will be travel to other project locations, such as Portsmouth, Virginia. Indirect/Direct Reports: 0Project Overview:In the offshore business unit, our client drives and manages big scale projects, often lasting 3-4 years of time from the contract signature to final takeover of the wind farm. A strong focus on time, cost and scope is therefore essential to successfully execute the projects. Time schedules are born in the early sales phase and evolve throughout the project life cycle. The execution time schedules are developed for construction/installation, commissioning and acceptance phases to plan and monitor these phases on a detailed level. To make sure these schedules are maintained we have the Site Based Planner.Position Overview:The Site Based Planner has a key role in managing the time schedules in our projects in the construction installation, commissioning and acceptance phases and directly supports the Construction Project Manager with various planning, controlling and governing tasks. The Site Based Planner makes sure the construction time schedule is at all times updated, maintained, analyzed and that it is communicated properly into the relevant stakeholders. The Site Based Planner creates scenarios for project optimization, risk analysis/-mitigation, runs reports and creates visualizations and proposals to enforce important decision making.The key responsibilities are in developing, updating and maintaining the construction time schedule of an offshore wind turbine project. You will further be responsible for tasks connected to e.g. monthly internal reporting, client reporting and communication, proactive follow-ups, schedule analysis and key stakeholder alignment regarding different planning deliverables.As a person you have a responsible approach to your work, taking ownership of what you do. You have a proactive, results-oriented focus; and can carry out your tasks in a dynamic environment. You are willing and capable of assuming additional responsibilities; to work autonomously, and to commit to stringent deadlines. It is important for this role that you have strong interpersonal skills as you will interact and work with people at all levels in the organization.Responsibilities:Support the Project Planner in updating the execution activities in the master time schedule.Developing and maintaining execution time schedules.Preparing scenario planning to evaluate potential options.Analyzing execution schedules and providing scenario plans for mitigation.Maintaining the accuracy of project schedules according to project objectives.Analyzing the schedule variance, risk and opportunities.Preparing and presenting data to influence program decision making.Coordinating with project team to accelerate tasks and resolve problems.Updating the manning schedule.Support the project in verifying and validating the Daily Progress Reports (DPR's).Supporting the Project Portfolio team with input from the project.Giving feedback to the line organization on learnings and best practices.Organizing your own workload to ensure time is utilized effectively.Qualifications:Ideally you hold an MSc. degree within industry related fields, e.g. engineering or project management.You have a minimum of 3 years' experience of working in major Projects (preferably from the Offshore or the Wind industry).You have experience from planning and controlling environments.Expert level using Primavera P6Potentially PMI-SP® certification (or other PMI® certifications)Computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applicationsKnowledge of Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Construction processesAs a person you are proactive with a detail and process-oriented mindset.Strong analytical skills demonstrated through the ability to plan and prioritize.You can work in an international environment having excellent English skills, both orally and in writing.
