Spencer Ogden is looking for a field construction manager to oversee small brownfield projects for a leading chemical manufacturing client of ours in the greater Trenton New Jersey area.Responsibilities:Ensure safety policies and regulations are complied with by everyone involved with project.Manage and coordinate all aspects of the actual construction work including, but not limited to, oversight of external contractors performing construction on project, coordination of owner furnished equipment, monitoring project schedule, maintaining daily completion logs, commissioning of project, and project hand-over to plant operations.Possess effective communication skills to effectively work with all members of the project team.Participate with project team in the generation and updating of the project schedule and phasing plan. Monitor progress and update the project team with ongoing project activities and daily schedule milestones.Work with project team to break down the project schedule into a two-week look ahead and coordinate with field activities.Proactively recognize and report to the project team any potential project risk. Participate in mitigation decisions with project team and implement corrective actions in the field.Review and hold accountable all Construction contractors to the client services agreement, contract terms, and conditions as it relates to document conformance, schedule, work performance, and all change requirements.Create a consistent, professional work product that meets or exceeds the project expectations.Promote and support a culture of inclusion where opinions are heard, valued, and respected.Employee may perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Any combination of education and experience equivalent to 5+ years in construction management, engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years' experience in managing Contractors or employees.OSHA 30 certification recommended.Forklift certified is preferredMaterials control experienceMust possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.Strong working knowledge of blueprints, submittals, shop drawings, P & ID's, Isometric drawings, Orthographic drawings, electrical one-line drawings.Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and a solution-oriented mindset.Professional verbal and written communication skills.Candidate should be knowledgeable with the QC requirements for various piping materials including Hydro and radiographic testing.
