Director of Engineering- Mechanical Engineering DivisionWho We Are:CSI International an affiliated company of The Facilities Group, the Director of Engineering is responsible for all the administrative, financial and operating aspects of the facilities within the engineering division. The individual is responsible for overseeing and ensuring they are providing safe and profitable operation.What You Will Be Doing:The Director of Facilities and Engineering will start-up, qualify, maintain and improve building infrastructure, utility and HVAC systems as well as manufacturing process equipment. Directs and coordinates the activities of the plant maintenance and engineering staff to start-up new utility & equipment systems, maintain compliance, and manage plant critical systems operation and qualification on an on-going basis. This position has the full responsibility to continually maintain FDA regulatory compliance for facility, utilities, and equipment.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Directs and coordinates all maintenance and engineering improvement activities for all engineering and mechanical employees.Represents Facilities and Engineering function during FDA and other regulatory agency inspections by explaining design features of facility, utilities, and qualification methods.Interfaces with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities to manage projects requiring regulatory approval including the FDA, EMA, DEA, EPA, Township and local authorities.Plans and directs solutions to complex regulatory, mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.Directly responsible to apply lifecycle equipment maintenance methodology ensuring and safe and zero-downtime operating environment with respect to facility and production equipment.Collaborates with the Manufacturing/Validation/Quality leaders to develop the plan to implement consistent, cost-effective, supportable automation technology solutions and standards.Directs the training and development of facilities maintenance and engineering employees.Communicates with peers, subordinates, internal and external customers concerning projects, problems and contractual obligations.As needed, develops budget estimates.Typical Supervisory Responsibility:Oversee the entire facilities and engineering department.Supervise and train all Engineering staff in Customer Service, Empowerment, Standard Operating Procedures and Loss Prevention Standards.Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels with client organization.Develops required preventive maintenance program and documentation to satisfy policies, procedures as it relates to regulatory requirements.Reviews plans and specifications for compliance with appropriate building codes and project requirements.Basic Qualifications:At least 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in the facilities services space; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related management experience; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related management experience. Strong technical hands-on knowledge with MEP, HVAC, boilers, chillers, air handlers and cooling towers. Full knowledge of pertinent regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that applies to the plant operations and facilities maintenance department. Excellent oral and written communication skills, having the ability to work well with others at all levels is desired.Can interpret and follow technical instructions and complete assignments timely, showing a sense of urgencyStationary Engineer's license if required by local code.HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.Preferred Technical competencies/ Certifications/ Licenses:10 years' experience working in commercialized sterile manufacturing operations with at least 5 years in the engineering function preferred.Excellent oral and written English communication.
