Steeped in a tradition of hydropower, American Hydro is a leading supplier and installer of large equipment for the hydro electric industry, specializing in design, engineering, precision CNC manufacture, upgrades and servicing of high-performance, hydro-turbines and large pumps.We are currently looking for a Project Manager to add to our team located at our York, PA facility.We are a tight-knit group that takes a great deal of pride in what we produce. If you are detail-oriented, hardworking, and looking for a place to call home, we invite you to apply for this opening.The Project Manager will lead complex projects for the design, manufacturing, and construction of hydroelectric turbines for power plants. They will be the primary customer interface and lead the project team to achieving the project goals including safety, profitability, schedule, quality, and risk mitigationAccountabilitiesProject profitability throughout the project lifecyclePrimary point of contact for all correspondence to customers for all aspects of the projectEnsures compliance and resolves any conflicts with contract requirements between customer and American HydroResolves problems concerning project performance and customer serviceDrives change control and coordinates the preparation of contract change proposalsNegotiates with customers to resolve any commercial disputesMonitors project progress and when necessary, recommends corrective action to satisfy project schedule, budget, and quality commitmentsManages major subcontractors for large or complex systems such as generators, governors, and subcontract servicesLeads cross functional teams to meet contract requirementsManages the invoicing with customers to maximize cash flow for the organizationSatisfies ISO 9001 Quality System as it relates to these tasksCoordinates with project teams to manage project risksEssential Functions Performed by the PositionContinuous improvementOn time deliveryBudget controlRisk managementServes as primary contractual and technical contact with customers after a contract has been awardedOversees functional departments (i.e. engineering, operations, field services, supply chain, quality etc.) to determine whether they are meeting project requirementsHandles internal and external performance problems to minimize non-conformance to contract specifications and maintain strong customer relationsResolve issues in a timely fashionComplete invoices in a timely mannerMaintain overall safety on projectsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDetail orientedMicrosoft OfficeScheduling - PrimaveraP6Time management skillsRisk management skillsOrganization skillsNegotiation skillsCritical thinking skillsAbility to adapt to changesStrong communication skillsAbility to work in teams and independentlyStrong verbal and written skillsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in hydro turbine project management preferredLicenses or Certifications RequiredProject Management Professional (PMP)Environment and Working ConditionsNormal office environmentProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerTravel Requirements (percent)Up t0 10%The benefits of joining our team!
