We are headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, and maintain testing laboratories, manufacturing, and support facilities around the globe.Tescor is looking for someone to join our Commercial HVAC Technician who will be responsible for using schematics to lay out and install refrigeration components, braze, and solder piping, perform leak and vacuum testing, and charge systems with refrigerant.Main Responsibilities:Operates refrigeration components, pipe installation and fitting and plumbing workWork and maintain refrigeration systems and other process fluid loops for walk-in freezers, environmental rooms, automotive test benches, calorimeters, and other custom equipmentSupport production and engineering teams to ensure system specifications are metReads and comprehends process flow and engineering schematicsLayouts, cuts, mounts, and connects process piping using solder, brazing and other methodsFills process loops with specified gases or fluidsCuts, threads, and connects pipe to functional components and water or power system on premisesInsulates piping, heaters, and various other system componentsRead and understand electrical schematics and mechanical blueprintsRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsEnsure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipmentAll other related duties as assignedPossess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the jobAdhere and perform all duties aligned with the core values of the LINK Group organization, Can-Do Attitude, Courage, Commitment, Humility and AccountabilityQualifications:HVAC CertificationHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC TechnicianEPA Universal Certification preferredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProven experience working with steam systems, black iron, stainless, brass, and PVC piping, pipe fitting, soft and silver solderingProven knowledge of the refrigeration cycles to identify components in advanced refrigeration circuits, diagnose and correct problems in the refrigeration circuitUse manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for refrigeration routine maintenance and troubleshootProven knowledge of refrigeration recovery, evacuation, and chargingStrong organizational skills to meet deadlinesExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong attention to detail skills to follow up accuratelyPhysical Requirements: The position is located in a manufacturing environment and will involve hands-on work.
