Job Summary We are looking to hire an experienced electrical estimator to determine the approximate costs of various electrical installations for industrial and commercial projects. The electrical estimator's responsibilities include determining how long each contracting job will last, researching market prices for project materials and equipment, and communicating with clients to determine the scope of each project. You should also be able to identify ways to continually improve cost-estimating procedures to reduce inconsistencies between estimated and actual project costs.To be successful as an electrical estimator, you should be detail-oriented and have sound knowledge of electrical codes. Ultimately, an exceptional Electrical Estimator should be adept at reading building plans and demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.Responsibilities Developing a full range of construction cost estimates from Conceptual Design parametric cost estimated to 100% Final Design bid estimates, Construction Phase Change Order EstimatesPreparing a Basis of Estimate that outlines the scope, exceptions, allowance, format, in accordance with client requirementsDevelops and/or compiles discipline and multi-discipline material take-offs (MTOs)Evaluates and/or develops labor rates and subcontract costsEnters the information into a spreadsheet or database for inclusion in an estimateAnalyze project documentation in order to scope, organize and deliver equipment, material, and labor cost estimatesDevelop project specific estimates based on project plans and schedulesPrepare and maintain a Basis of Estimate (BOE) for each projectPerform estimate benchmarking and compile project estimates prior to the internal and external reviewDevelop the estimate plan and communicate related informationLead reviews of project estimates with the appropriate engineering disciplinesEnsure that estimates are consistent with client common processes and quality standards and accurately reflect project staffing requirementsUpon award, update estimate to projectGenerate award documents for reviewIdentify areas of importance (milestones, LDs,) of a project and relay to sales teamFacilitate a scope review with the Project Manager and designersQualifications Education through an accredited JATC or trade school.Bachelor's or Associate Degree in electrical engineering or a similar field, a plus, but not required.3-5 years of project estimating and or related experienceStrong leadership and managerial skills.In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.Familiarity with state electrical and safety codes.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsKeen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solvingAble to proactively address potential issuesAble to work independently with little supervisionHighly motivated with a strong work ethicReliable, trustworthy, and committed to the team's successOutstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasksAble to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environmentEmployer Paid Benefit Package Offered:• Health, Dental, Vision Insurance (Employer Paid Premiums Single & Family)• 401K Plan with Matching Contribution• Life Insurance & Disability Insurance• Paid Time Off - Personal, Vacation and Holiday PayEOE Statement: J.W.
