For the upcoming school year 2024/2025, we are currently seeking Certified Teachers who specialize in both lower and upper-school Special Education, Elementary, History/Social Studies, General Science/ Biology and Math.Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:Create instructional resources for use in the classroomPlan, prepare and deliver instructional activitiesCreate positive educational climate for students to learn inMeet course and school-wide student performance goalsParticipate in ongoing training sessionsCreate lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the yearMaintain grade booksGrade papers and perform other administrative duties as neededRead and stay abreast of current topics in educationCreate lesson plansUtilize various curriculum resourcesIntegrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plansUtilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students servedWork with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being metTutor students on an individual basisEstablish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activitiesPrepare and distribute required reportsObserve and evaluate students performanceManage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary proceduresRequired skills/ Education:Bachelors Degree in Education preferred, and/or a Connecticut State Teaching licenseExperience: At least 2 years of experience working in substitute teacher capacityOther: Must be willing to be fingerprintedCompany OverviewWe are an equal opportunity employer and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
