Overview of the Cost Accountant role:• Analyze production costs and prepare cost reports to support financial planning and decision-making.• Maintain and update the cost accounting system, ensuring accurate cost allocations.• Monitor inventory valuation, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.• Perform variance analysis for material, labor, and overhead costs, and recommend corrective actions.• Collaborate with operations and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies. Preferred Qualifications for the Cost Accountant role:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• Proven experience in cost accounting or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Business Central, or Epicor).• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.• Knowledge of inventory management and standard costing is a plus.
