Refinery Operator I

OverviewSafety-Kleen in East Chicago, IN is currently seeking a Refinery Operator I. Your main responsibilities would be tank re-refinery process operations; recording tank gage readings; completing tank transfers and other associated paperwork. We are looking for an individual with time management skills and a flexible schedule.Pay Rate: $22.12 HR- Union Rate; yearly raises with CBA, room to move into a Refinery Operator II role in the future.Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts, covering days and nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime is required to cover vacations and sick time as needed. Need a very flexible schedule to work at this facility as it is 365-day facility that doesn't close down for weekends or holidays.Why work for Clean Harbors?Health and Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5;Union competitive wages;Comprehensive health benefits coverage;Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement;Positive and safe work environments;Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career.ResponsibilitiesEnsuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;Samples process streams and assists with tank farm operations as necessary;Gauge all process tanks every two hours, calculate the product splits yields and relay information to the first operator;Complete tank transfers to control inventory;Obtain routine process samples to verify product quality (this includes the use of supplied air in some cases);Switch and change process filters as needed;Assist other operators as needed;Complete housekeeping tasks in refinery.QualificationsThe ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays;The ability to work on ladders or at heights;1+ years of previous experience preferred, preferably in industrial environment or in construction;Basic math skills are required;Ability to effectively communicate refinery changes preferred;Team oriented.Join our safety focused team today!
