An international automotive parts and bearings manufacturer in the Columbus, IN area is searching for an experienced Japanese/English Bilingual Buyer to join their facility. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years' purchasing or procurement experience in an industrial environment, and a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a full-time, direct hire position that offers a competitive salary and outstanding benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) match.Buyer Responsibilities Include: Participate in purchasing and procurement activities, and communicate with suppliers regarding active orders, logistics tracking, issues with products, etc. in both Japanese and EnglishReceive and compare quotations from suppliers, analyze supplier pricing, production costs, etc. to reduce company expenses and improve supplier qualitySupport production and product development departments by analyzing production needs, such as equipment, materials, etc.Collaborate with other departments to determine future needs for materials / equipment / etc.Report purchasing activities and create documentation for upper management Other duties as assignedBuyer Requirements Include: Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain or business-related field preferred, OR equivalent work experienceMinimum business-level Japanese language ability is required (JLPT N2 equivalent) Proven experience in industrial purchasing, production planning, procurement, etc. Specific experience in the automotive and / or electronics industries is preferredExperience with production planning, cost analysis, and budget preparationStrong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environmentGood computer skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applicationsWhile performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear.
