Procurement Specialist

General DescriptionPurchasing position will be responsible for purchasing of shop materials. Maintain records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices. Good communication skills are essential as will be working with both internal and external customers. JOB RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKSAssist Plant Controller with daily operational needs such as purchasing, order processing, return processing, data entry, inventory requirements and various other reportingPurchase raw materials, maintenance materials, MRO, safety, office supplies and inventoried itemsReview minimum and maximum for items and adjust accordingly for optimal stocking levelsEntry of purchase orders in the ERP system and upon receipt, verification of the items received against the purchase order, and track orders for on time deliveryNegotiating Andritz Terms and Conditions as needed for vendor purchasesAddressing vendor quality issues, handling complaints and raw material shortagesResearch potential vendors and comparing and evaluating offers from suppliersMaintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoicesIssuing status reports on projects - reporting (weekly reports, statistics, etc.)Maintain records of purchased parts and outside vendor consumables and submit purchased part reportsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSExperience in all Microsoft Office software. (Advanced Excel skills preferred.)Experience using an ERP system (SAP/Point Man/Syteline preferred).Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions coupled with the ability to handle multiple tasksWill require analytical skills as will be working with financial reports and conduct cost analysisUnderstanding of supply chain proceduresGood knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (research and evaluating)Must be able to work with shop floor personnel and be able to handle issues as they occurExperience: Previous experience in a plant location manufacturing environment is preferredAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
