Estimator - Strategic & Tactical Pricing (Aerospace Manufacturing)We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Estimator to drive tactical and strategic pricing development in our fast-paced, high-mix, high-volume aerospace manufacturing environment. In this role, you will leverage pricing models, historical data, and cost estimating tools to develop competitive pricing strategies. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and market-aligned pricing while supporting the sales team with data-driven recommendations.Key Responsibilities:Act as the primary internal resource supporting Account Managers in pricing and quoting activities.Develop strategic pricing for major proposals using internally derived cost data and market insights.Conduct pricing analysis to resolve moderately complex cost-related questions.Review technical drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing processes to determine accurate cost estimates.Ensure pricing calculations align with market conditions and margin targets.Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to validate pricing data.Coordinate with Engineering to ensure customer specifications align with our product designs.Work with Purchasing and Engineering to review cost data for accuracy and pricing applicability.Process and review customer Requests for Quote (RFQs) efficiently and accurately.Track and present daily quote metrics to sales team management.Obtain financial approval for pricing in compliance with SOX requirements when necessary.Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Conduct peer reviews of pricing and quote accuracy, documenting any quality issues and corrective actions.Maintain key performance metrics (e.g., win-rate) to support business objectives and AS9100 compliance.Analyze data and team input to recommend process improvements.Work independently while effectively managing multiple pricing projects and deadlines.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications & Experience:Required:Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, OR at least 3 years of pricing/quoting experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of education.Strong understanding of pricing, quoting, and costing in a high-mix/high-volume manufacturing environment.Preferred:Aerospace industry experience is strongly preferredAbility to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, specifications, and technical documentsSkills & Competencies:Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.Critical thinking with the ability to identify market patterns and pricing intelligence from RFQ data.Proactive, investigative approach to understanding market trends and pricing strategiesAdvanced Excel skills, with experience handling complex datasets.Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookExperience with pricing and quoting in an ERP system (JD Edwards or Syteline ERP preferred).Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Exceptional time management with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.Ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet business goals.Experience in report writing and presentation preparation is a plus.
