The township blends its rural character with modern municipal services, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment for professionals dedicated to public service.Position Overview: Chadds Ford Township is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant & Assistant Building Code Official to support township administration, code enforcement, and community engagement initiatives. This full-time position is ideal for a motivated professional who excels in a multi-faceted role, balancing administrative responsibilities with technical support for the township's building department, permitting processes, and community development efforts. This individual will serve as a key point of contact for residents, businesses, contractors, and township officials, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery. It includes a comprehensive benefits package to support work-life balance and professional growth.Key Responsibilities:Administrative Support - Assist township administration with public inquiries, records management, and meeting preparation for the Board of Supervisors, committees, and commissions.Building Department Assistance - Process permits, schedule inspections, track open permits, and support code enforcement.Code Compliance & Enforcement - Draft notices, maintain enforcement logs, and ensure compliance with township regulations.Infrastructure & Utility Support - Process HOPs, coordinate with contractors/utilities, monitor road issues, track repairs, and ensure compliance with township and PennDOT regulations.Public Engagement & Events - Develop outreach materials (e.g., flyers, e-newsletters), manage public communications, and coordinate township events.Open Space Committee Liaison - Prepare meeting materials, transcribe minutes, and support open space initiatives.Qualifications:Education: High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or Business Administration preferred).Experience: 2-3 years of municipal experience preferred.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with permitting software is a plus.Communication & Organization: Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Physical Ability: Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. for document management and event setup.Certifications: Building Code Official License or willingness to obtain.Requirements:Meetings: Must be able to attend 1-3 night meetings a month.Must be able to attend occasional weekend events throughout the year.If you have questions about the position, call or e-mail Lacey Faber at 610-388-8800 or .
