Electrical and Instrumentation Designer

Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an I&E Designer to work on a 3-6 month assignment in Tulsa, OK.Summary:The ideal candidate will conduct complex design assignments for the Engineering Department and functions as a technical specialist, formulating and developing advanced engineering and design concepts.Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:Solves technical problems related to projects and troubleshoots and updates report data for business unit(s)Analyses related components and systems, processes and methods, and refinery processes and economicsUnderstands and can create and modify engineering documentation.Familiarity with industrial electrical equipment and installations.Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office productsEvaluates and applies technical specifications into project designs.Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.ExperienceA minimum of 5-10 years of progressive work experience in electrical, instrumentation & controls is required. Emphasis on controls engineering and power distribution is required.Preferred Experience: Refinery or petrochemical industry experience is preferred.Education Level:A minimum of an associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent amount of experience is requiredRequired Skills:Ability to manage a project is essential.Working knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts and ability to apply this knowledge analytically.Ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes is essential. Technical expert in area of specialty.Ability to compare field installations against engineering documents.Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.Preferred Skills:Working knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with engineering software is preferred.SAP knowledge and experience is preferred.
