Construction Manager / Commissioning ManagerSubstation/medium - high voltage switchgear is preferred.Position Overview: Construction Manager - Utility / Renewable Energy ProjectsWe are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and oversee the execution of utility / renewable energy projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency at every stage. This role demands strong leadership in project execution, resource allocation, safety protocols, vendor management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing large-scale construction efforts, particularly in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on energy storage systems and clean energy infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Oversight and ExecutionProject Planning and SchedulingDevelop and implement a comprehensive project execution plan that aligns with the project's timeline, budget, and quality expectations. Ensure milestones, critical paths, and deadlines are met in compliance with contractual obligations.Resource ManagementEnsure the effective allocation of resources (manpower, materials, equipment) to meet project schedules. Utilize strategic site staffing and deployment plans to optimize efficiency, productivity, and safety.Subcontractor Coordination and OversightManage subcontractor activities, ensuring strict adherence to contractual agreements, project specifications, and timelines. Perform regular performance assessments and implement corrective actions to maintain quality standards.Safety ManagementChampion safety protocols and best practices across all site operations. Collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams to enforce safety measures, minimizing on-site risks and ensuring a safe working environment.Site and Vendor ManagementVendor and Stakeholder EngagementCultivate strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with third-party vendors for inventory control, procurement, and logistics management.Inventory Control and Site LogisticsOversee site inventory management, ensuring materials and equipment are tracked accurately. Coordinate the logistics of material deliveries, on-site storage, and movement, prioritizing efficiency and organization.Documentation and ComplianceDaily ReportingPrepare and submit detailed daily progress reports, addressing site conditions, task completion, safety compliance, and any project deviations. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to maintain project transparency and accountability.Regulatory and Compliance ManagementEnsure all project documentation is compliant with local, state, and federal regulations, including renewable energy standards. Manage submissions for energy storage systems and other renewable infrastructure projects in line with industry regulations.Quality AssuranceConduct regular reviews of subcontracted work to ensure compliance with project quality standards. Implement corrective actions for discrepancies or issues, ensuring that all aspects of the project meet or exceed the required specifications.Commissioning SupportCommissioning Documentation and ReviewCollaborate with the commissioning team to verify and organize pre-commissioning documentation. Actively participate in pre-cold, cold, and hot commissioning phases, ensuring a seamless transition from construction to operational readiness.Additional ResponsibilitiesCrane and Rigging OperationsCoordinate crane lifts, rigging, and other heavy equipment operations, working closely with the rigging team to ensure safe and efficient handling of all necessary tasks.Permitting and Regulatory ComplianceManage the documentation, permits, and contracts required by local regulations and internal processes, ensuring full regulatory compliance throughout the project's lifecycle.Qualifications and ExperienceProven experience managing construction projects within the renewable energy sector, particularly energy storage, solar, wind, or other clean energy infrastructure projects.Strong knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and energy industry-specific compliance requirements.Exceptional project management, communication, and leadership skills.Experience with scheduling software, resource management tools, and other project management systems.Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
