Senior Buyer - Manufacturing

Our client company, a well-established, financially strong, and rapidly-growing specialty architectural products manufacturer, is looking to hire a Senior Buyer to join the team at its San Antonio-Austin area manufacturing facility. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for purchasing and handling raw materials, equipment, and supplies needed for the company to operate efficiently as well as mentor the junior buyers. This role has a defined career pathway and is earmarked to step into a Manager level role down the road. Other responsibilities include:Maintaining an optimal inventory level for all manufacturing operations;Minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges;Working with the corporate purchasing team to leverage purchasing power;Ensuring proper production control planning and scheduling programs relevant to sales forecasts;Coaches, mentors, and trains a small team of purchasing and inventory employees;Working on physical inventory counts and cycle count efforts;Stock location management;Variance investigations;Working with quality/sourcing teams to ensure supply chain efficiency;Managing supplier relationships;And more including other standard Purchasing and Inventory functions;To be considered for an interview, candidates MUST HAVE:A 4 year degree or related working experience;4+ years of purchasing/inventory management;Experience in Manufacturing environmentsOur client company is offering a competitive compensation package including a full suite of benefits which begin on Day 1 of employment as well as a defined career pathway for professional growth.
