PositionEntry-Level DrafterLocationONSITE, Schenectady NY - 12306REMOTE MONDAY/FRIDAY once they are out of training period (around 3-4 months)HoursStandard 40hr week M-F, 7:30-4:30pm EST Contract12m contract to hirePR$25/HROverviewInsight Global is seeking enthusiastic individuals interested in growing within drafting and design to join their team in Schenectady, NY. This role is responsible for taking engineering input to create quality, on-time, world-class models & drawings for large scale power plant components. This role is supporting General Electric's Configuration Management and Product Definition team within their generator, steam path, and structures divisions. Below is a breakdown of the daily activities:Create and maintain 3D drawings, Bills of Materials, and CAD models/assemblies for large Power Generation Steam Turbine and/or Generator components.Self-sufficient in the following to enable design completion: Retrieving design input informationExecuting design details per standard GE practice and documentationIssuing drawings, models, and Bill of Materials per documented GE processesInterface with drafting, engineering, and manufacturing to create high quality producible designs.Help define/maintain and meet scheduled dates for design related activities and provide early communication to alert management of issuesUnderstand and follow GD&T principles and GE drawing standards.Full knowledge of Bill of Material structures/principles.Proficient in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and change management methodology.Qualifications:Technical Degree (Associates in Engineering/Technology-related field). Or, if no technical degree, candidate should possess at least 2 years of relevant working experience in design/drafting fieldUnderstanding of NX CAD software, or other advanced CAD platform and modeling. Ability to work in a professional environment that focuses on teamwork during various design phasesStrong passion for growing within drafting and design
