PLEASE NOTE: this is a Quality Supervisor for the packaging and containers manufacturing industry. Must be local to the area. Job Title: Quality Assurance SupervisorOverview: Coordinate and oversee all Quality Assurance activities across both production and laboratory environments to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. Ensure production processes consistently meet customer expectations and compliance requirements. Collaborate with the Plant/Operations Manager to manage quality-related communications with customers.Key Responsibilities:Ensure that all production activities comply with internal, customer, and regulatory packaging specifications.Conduct measurements, testing, and reporting on dimensional, functional, and visual attributes according to specified requirements.Maintain the performance and calibration of quality-related equipment, including coordinating with external calibration providers as needed.Manage and preserve the integrity of the measurement database.Work with production teams and customers to establish optimized process settings, especially during sampling and product qualification phases.Organize and lead periodic customer visits.Handle customer complaint processes under the direction of the Plant/Operations Manager.Ensure adherence to ISO standards and external audit requirements; prepare for and successfully complete audits.Develop and maintain all internal packaging and product specifications, as well as customer-specific product requirements.Produce monthly quality reports and manage root cause analyses, involving relevant departments to ensure effective corrective actions are taken.Document and report all quality-related supplier issues and manage non-conformance reporting.Complete customer-required testing and ensure the accurate generation of Certificates of Compliance.Monitor online testing and machine operators' SPC data entry to ensure consistent product quality.Promote a quality-driven mindset across all plant employees.Oversee rework coordination for non-conforming products with production teams.Manage color matching processes for packaging and ensure color sample approval from customers during each production start-up.Supervise quality testing procedures on both the production floor and within the quality lab, including staff training and evaluation.Team Leadership:Conduct regular quality staff meetings to ensure the team works effectively and collaboratively.Record team attendance and performance accurately.Assist with recruitment efforts and handle employee disciplinary actions, in collaboration with management and HR.Oversee performance evaluations for quality technicians and assess the training needs of staff, ensuring training is completed.Requirements:Performance Measures:ISO certificationSuccessful completion of customer and external auditsTeam performance levelsEducation and Experience:Minimum 2-year degree (Associates) in a related field or equivalent.Experience with physical lab testing equipment such as calipers, scales, digital height gauges, compression force testing equipment, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.Qualifications and Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SPC databases, and Word.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain strong organizational skills.
