About the Company The company is a large, multi-national, publicly traded company with many stores in the Northern Hemisphere. About the Role The Retail Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring products to support retail store operations. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, strong supplier relationships, and competitive pricing while aligning with company standards, customer needs, and profitability goals. The Retail Buyer will collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to streamline procurement processes, reduce costs, and maximize operational efficiency.Responsibilities Procurement and SourcingSourced and procured products across various categories to meet retail stores' operational needs and customer demands.Conduct market research to identify new product trends, emerging suppliers, and consumer demands.Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining high product quality.Develop and maintain a preferred supplier list to ensure long-term, cost-effective relationships with key vendors.Inventory ManagementMonitor and manage inventory levels across retail stores to ensure optimal stock availability and prevent stockouts or overstocking issues.Analyze historical sales trends, seasonality, and market conditions to forecast product demand.Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries, proper storage, and distribution of products across retail locations.Vendor ManagementBuild and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.Regularly evaluate supplier performance based on key metrics, including product quality, delivery timelines, and pricing.Resolve any supplier-related issues, including delays, product defects, or pricing discrepancies, to maintain smooth operations.Work with vendors to create retail promotions or sales campaigns to drive product visibility and customer engagement.Data Analysis and ReportingUtilize sales and inventory data to make informed procurement decisions and improve inventory turnover.Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as cost savings, inventory turnover rates, and supplier performance metrics.Prepare procurement forecasts and budgets, presenting them to senior management to ensure alignment with business objectives.Compliance and Policy AdherenceEnsure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and ethical standards in all retail buying activities.Stay updated on industry regulations and market standards related to retail procurement.Qualifications [Education details]Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a preference for experience in the retail industry.Required SkillsStrong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills with vendors, internal stakeholders, and retail teams.Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to use data to make strategic purchasing and inventory decisions.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills being a plus.You can learn about retail product trends, categories, and customer demands.Pay range and compensation package Low to mid 100's K
