Job Posting: Benefits AnalystAbout the Role:We are partnering with a reputable local insurance brokerage to hire a Benefits Analyst to support the growth and management of our employee benefits offerings. In this role, you will be responsible for managing an assigned book of business, including new and renewal business across various employee benefit products such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and more. You will collaborate with internal teams, insurance carriers, and clients to deliver comprehensive benefit solutions that meet their unique needs.This is an office-based role with the opportunity for one day WFH after 6 months of training.Key Responsibilities:Manage and maintain assigned book of business, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and keeping up to date with any changes.Develop and maintain key relationships with clients and carrier contacts, negotiating competitive options for clients.Coordinate with the account team to understand client strategies and define roles, responsibilities, and deadlines.Prepare and submit Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to the market, responding to all carrier and client inquiries.Ensure timely delivery of renewals by collaborating with carriers and vendors to obtain accurate renewal information.Analyze benefits plans, reviewing coverage, costs, plan utilization, and trends to provide data-driven insights.Evaluate marketing and plan responses, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and request any necessary revisions.Present renewal options to the account team, preparing comprehensive renewal presentations with relevant analysis.Conduct detailed benchmarking and cost analysis, providing recommendations for cost containment strategies.Collaborate with the internal team to negotiate with carriers and manage outsourcing of vendors.Stay current on industry trends, pricing strategies, and legislative changes affecting employee benefits.Prepare and maintain custom financial/utilization reports, providing both written and oral summaries of findings.Ensure all work is documented in accordance with agency management system CRM standards.Experience and Education Qualifications:Life and Health license for the State of Colorado required.A Bachelor's degree is preferred; however, a strong combination of education and relevant experience in the insurance industry will also be considered.At least 3 years of experience in a Benefits Analyst or similar role in the employee benefits industry is required.Solid understanding of group health and welfare plans, including ERISA, Cobra, HIPAA, ACA, HSA, ICHRA, and Section 125.Exposure to underwriting and financial analysis of health and welfare plans is preferred.A passion for staying updated on industry advancements and best practices.If you have a passion for employee benefits, possess strong analytical skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
