This role is responsible for analyzing sales trends, forecasting demand, and optimizing stock levels to align with company goals. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Merchandise Planner will ensure that product strategies enhance profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning:Develop and execute seasonal merchandise plans, including inventory strategies, pricing, and promotional schedules to achieve revenue and margin targetsCollaborate with sales and marketing teams to create buying and assortment plans that align with business objectivesUtilize historical sales data and market trends to forecast inventory needs, ensuring optimal stock levels and turnover ratesSales and Inventory Analysis:Conduct thorough sales and performance analyses to identify trends, bestsellers, and underperforming products.Adjust forecasts and replenishment strategies based on real-time sales data to maximize inventory efficiencyMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sell-through rates, margin contribution, and stock-to-sales ratiosAssortment and Product Strategy:Develop product assortments that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends.Ensure the right mix of products across categories, price points, and channels to optimize sales performance.Provide insights on product lifecycle management, including new product introductions, markdown strategies, and end-of-life planningOrder Management and AllocationCreate and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.Oversee inventory allocation strategies to balance stock distribution across wholesale, e-commerce and retail Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure smooth product flow and mitigate supply chain disruptionsCollaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with the design team to ensure product assortments align with brand aesthetics and customer demand Work closely with the e-commerce team to optimize online merchandising, inventory availability, and promotional effectiveness Align with retail teams to ensure in-store assortments meet regional demands and support sales growthCollaborate with the marketing team to integrate product strategies with promotional campaign and customer engagement initiatives. Quality and Sustainability:Ensure all merchandise meets company standard for quality and sustainability, aligning with brand values and corporate responsibility goalsBudget and Financial Oversight:Develop and manage merchandise budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and cost efficiency Qualifications/SkillsBachelor's degree in Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field3+years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or buying in children's apparelStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.Deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and financial forecasting.Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.Proficient in inventory planning tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate insights and collaborate with stakeholders.Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred.BenefitsPaid Time Off (PTO) & Paid HolidaysHealth Insurance 401K Plan / 401K MatchEmployee DiscountMilkbarn, LLC. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
