Service Technician

Our client is looking for a Service Technician for a 6-month contract in Elgin, IL 60124.Our client is an American multinational telecommunications company known for its pioneering role in the mobile communications industry. Founded in 1928, the company has been a key player in the development of wireless technology, including the first commercial cell phone and continues to maintain its relevance through excellence and innovation.Contract Duration: 6 MonthsRequired Skills & ExperienceTechnically proficient in basic computer skill.Experience with Networking Equipment - (Cisco and HP)Scripting knowledge.Minimum of 1 - 3 years experience with a technical degree/certification.Experience with configure, test, and ship sophisticated telecommunication equipment.Experience setting up and configuring Windows computers, servers and networking devices.Able to sit and/or stand for 8 hours [or more if working overtime].Moderate Windows/Google Computer skills and ability to read/enter data as required.Ability to read build and configuration documentation.Quality/Safety conscious with ability to stay focused and pay attention to detail.Good attendance record and must be able to work 40 hours plus (including weekend work) Overtime each week for length of assignment.Ability to work in a fast paced team environment.Quick learner with ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Able to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.Willing to rotate between various positions in the organization based on business needs.Able to wear steel toed shoes.Desired Skills & ExperienceBasic debugging of automation scripts.What You Will Be DoingTrain to stage Servers / Workstations and Switches.Develop working relationships with the team and Development Organization.Communication to the Team Lead and Management on day to day progress.Staging and Configuring Servers / Switches / Firewalls.Programming and Debugging Scripts to enable Staging Operations is a huge plus if an FT position becomes available.Communicating and working cohesively with the Development Organization.Debugging Issues related to Sales Order and helping rectify them.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
