Job Title:Associate Director of Additive ManufacturingStatus: Full-Time, minimum 40 hours per week, evenings/weekends as neededFLSA exempt employee statusPay: $60,000 annual salaryCommission:Commission will be paid in accordance to the Ascent Fabrication Inc. Commission PlanExpenses: Expenses will be reimbursed on a monthly basis and must adhere to the Ascent Fabrication Travel and Expense Policy Reports To: Joe Fairley, Founder, Owner, CEOLocation:Onsite - 12 Shenandoah Dr, STE 307, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866Up to 25-50% travel required, any personal car use will be reimbursed per the Ascent Fabrication Travel and Expense PolicyHolidays:Ascent Fabrication offers 11 paid holidays annually - Memorial Day - the last Monday in May, Juneteenth - June 19, July 4th-Independence Day, Labor Day- First Monday in September, Indigenous People's Day - Second Monday in October, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Other religious holidays will be observed as applicable. Ascent Fabrication will be closed on these days. Holidays that fall on a Saturday are observed on Friday, and holidays that fall on a Sunday are observed on Monday.Paid Time Off: Ascent Fabrication offers full time employees Paid Time Off, which includes vacation and sick leave. For the first year of employment, the Company provides up to 12 days (96 hours) of PTO annually, which will be prorated based upon your start date. PTO hours are front-loaded, meaning they are fully available following the first ninety (90) days of employment. Additional information about the Company's PTO policies can be found in the Company's Employee Handbook, which will be provided to you upon hire.Health Insurance:Health insurance is not provided at this time. It is suggested that the employee find their own health insurance plan, which Ascent Fabrication may assist the employee in finding a suitable plan. Job Overview:The Associate Director of Additive Manufacturing will be responsible for the management and implementation of Ascent Fabrication's general additive manufacturing (AM) operations, which includes: marketing and sales of industrial large-format 3D printers, operation and maintenance of 3D printers on-site at Ascent Fabrication, on-site and off-site customer training, and remote troubleshooting support. Other job duties may include: basic to advanced CAD design, usage of slicer software to create .gcode, full operation and troubleshooting of the 3D printers, maintain, track, and order raw material inventory, post-processing of 3D printed parts, shipping and receiving logistics, as well as training new hires in operative and technical roles. The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience operating 3D printer(s) and have intermediate to advanced CAD skills. Highly preferred is a candidate who: 1) has their own personal 3D printer or multiple printers, 2) is a true go-getter, someone who is ambitious and effective working independently, 3) is customer service oriented - wanting to go above and beyond what is asked of them, 4) is very comfortable traveling by plane, train, and/or automobile independently for off-site customer 3D printer installation trainings, 5) is excited about being an integral part of a fast growing start-up company. Responsibilities & Duties:The Associate Director of AM will:Travel independently as needed to customer sites to install and train personnel on various 3D printers. Travel required between 25-50%.Assist in troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance support for the sales of 3D printers, remote and in person as needed.Maintain our CRM and assist in lead generation of new customers.Perform sales calls independently.Utilize CAD software to design prototypes and other products from a basic to advanced level.May travel to conferences and exhibitions as needed.Assist in training new employees as applicable.Utilize an assortment of slicer softwares to prepare 3D scans, edit, and create 3D print settings in the form of: .gcode, .factory, .ini, or similar file type.Prepare a 3D printer by loading filament, prepare the bed surface, and verify particular hardware is in place for a successful print. Monitor parts printing onsite and remotely as needed.Clean and maintain the integrity of the 3D printer parts, and order new parts as needed.Post process a 3D print by removing any support material, utilize a grinding/buffing machine and other power tools when necessary.Prepare, box up, and ship out finished parts via UPS, FedEx, etc. Track and maintain raw material (spooled filament) inventory, procure more as necessary.Be able to read a work order, follow instructions and strict quality control guidelines.
