Mpac Switchback is a manufacturer of secondary packaging equipment utilized in Brewery, Beverage, Food, Personal Care, Medical and Specialty market verticals.PURPOSE OF THE JOB:Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer Planner will be responsible for sourcing, researching, comparing, and selecting suppliers and goods based upon suitability, delivery, quality, and price.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Drive the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning processes to achieve financial objectives.Purchase materials (RAW & WIP) as documented on bill of materials from new or established suppliers.Expedite replenishment orders and deliveries as needed to meet production requirements.Send out production order purchase orders to existing suppliers.Interface with other departments such as Manufacturing, Shipping/Receiving, Service, Accounting, and Engineering in order resolve problems relevant to direct materials and services, raw material quality, quantity verification and delivery in support of production demands to resolve problems with timely resolution.Assess the current Supply Chain procedures, evaluate risks, and prioritize areas for mitigation & improvement.Support maintaining Inventory accuracy.Investigate and propose safety, quality, and cost improvements.Design and implement practices and processes that support Global Supply Chain Strategies for Standard Systems & Modularity.Monitor performance metrics for vendor OTD, quality, and pricing.Adapt to changing market conditions, product development, business opportunities, cost reduction, price / contract negotiation, and quality improvement strategies.Coordinate strict control over inventory levels with Warehousing & Distribution to meet internal and external customer demand.Identify discrepancies between inventory levels and ERP data and take appropriate corrective action. Assist with annual physical inventory.Support the usage of ERP Systems and Standard Processes to ensure inventory accuracy.Perform other functions as needed.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, related field, or 3-5 years of equivalent experience required.Experience with SIOP, master scheduling, detailed scheduling, materials planning, inventory management, and supply chain management.Excellent Communication, Planning & Resource Allocation skills required.Prior experience in Industrial Automation, Manufacturing or Packaging industries preferred.Proficiency with ERP systems required; experience with ERP conversions (Visual 9) preferred.Computer literacy & proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT) is required.Good communication skills are required.Ability to multitask & manage multiple projects of various sizes and complexity.DESIRED BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:Behaves Ethically "” Ensures own behavior is consistent with Mpac standards and aligns with the values of the organization.Impact and influence "” works effectively with and through others including where no formal authority exists.Achievement Motivation "” results oriented.
