Join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.Position Summary:With a focus on cultivating relationships with donors, sponsors, and community stakeholders, the Director of Special Events will lead the planning and execution of CHC's fundraising events, including our signature annual gala and other events throughout the year. This dynamic role blends creative vision with project management expertise and requires a strategic thinker who can use events as a platform to advance CHC's fundraising goals and deepen donor engagement. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, this full-time role is based in our NYC office, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days in-office per week.Key Responsibilities:Event Planning and Execution:Plan, manage, and execute CHC's fundraising and community events, including the annual gala, donor cultivation events, and online giving campaigns.Develop and manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics to align with organizational goals.Collaborate with stakeholders to conceptualize event themes and ensure feasibility and alignment with CHC's mission.Lead event setup, breakdown, registration, and vendor coordination.Use event management software to track donations and create online registration and auction sites.Oversee on-site and virtual event logistics, ensuring seamless and impactful experiences for all stakeholders.Conduct post-event evaluations to assess outcomes, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement and prepare reports on event performance, including financial results and attendance metrics.Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration:Manage relationships with event vendors, ensuring high-quality services and adherence to budgets.Work closely with board members and event committees to maximize their involvement and contributions.Fundraising and Donor Engagement:Develop and implement strategies to use events as tools for donor cultivation, stewardship, and acquisition.Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, board members, and event committees to encourage ongoing support.Identify opportunities to integrate fundraising appeals and recognition into events to maximize revenue and engagement.Partner with the development team to identify and solicit sponsorships, in-kind donations, and auction items.Marketing and Promotion:Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute promotional campaigns for events, including social media, email, and website updates.Ensure event materials and messaging align with CHC's mission and resonate with donors and sponsors.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.5+ years of experience in fundraising event management, donor cultivation, or nonprofit development.Familiarity with donor databases such as Raiser's Edge and event software.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Exceptional project management and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and deadlines.Creative and strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.Experience with sponsorship solicitation and relationship management.Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media platforms is a plus.Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.Benefits and Compensation:CHC offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and generous paid time off.How to Apply:Please submit your resume and cover letter to nnadler@.
