We are committed to hiring the best people and giving them the best tools to succeed.JOB OVERVIEW:The Estimator for the General Contracting team is expected to lead the estimating portion of the pre-construction process. The requires an individual who has high attention to detail and delivers estimates with great accuracy and in short timelines. This person must be comfortable bidding private and hard bid work.RESPONSIBILITIES:Bid administrationSolicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendorsPrepares subcontractor bid packagesTransmits addenda and other information to subcontractorsEnsures proper subcontractor coverageShows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricingSubmits 100% of bids and budgets by bid deadlineProject knowledgeReview bid documents thoroughly and submit RFI's on every bidHave a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades and subcontractorsPerforms a comprehensive bid day analysis and scope reviewChoosing appropriate subcontractors for the projectMinimize exclusionsProject turnoverProperly turn over all bid documents and sub buyout information to Project ManagementAttend and contribute to pre-construction meetingReview drawings with project management teamReview job costs with project management teamSKILLS FOR SUCCESS:Able to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely mannerExcellent Communication skills, verbal and written.Ability to effectively lead meetingsExcellence in MS OfficeAbility to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management to the estimating processAbility to build relationships and collaborate within a teamProficiency in project management and accounting softwareQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related fieldIn lieu of above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered10+ years of estimating for reputable general contractors5+ years estimating public/hard bid workAbility to travel locallyBENEFITS:J.H.Hassinger, Inc. offers a comprehensive benefit plan that includes: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Short Term and Long Term Disability, and a 401(k) Plan; all with minimal cost to you.LEARN MORE AT:
