Buyer - Defense Procurement (12+ Month Contract, Onsite in Upper Saddle River, NJ)We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement operations for defense-related materials and services. This onsite role requires a strong background in procurement, supplier negotiations, and federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS) to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled in vendor management within a fast-paced government or defense industry environmentKey Details:Location: Upper Saddle River, NJ (100% onsite)Duration: 12+ month contract (possible extension or conversion to FTE)Work Schedule: 9/80 schedule, flexible start time (6:30 AM - 8:00 AM)Citizenship: U.S. citizens only (due to nature of work, should be able to obtain security clearance)Interview Process: Two video interviews followed by an onsite meetingKey Responsibilities:Procure custom and off-the-shelf materials to support defense-related operations.Develop and manage solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) and evaluate supplier qualifications.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure compliance with federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS).Oversee contract administration, supplier performance, and issue resolution.Conduct market research and cost analysis to optimize purchasing strategies.Maintain compliance with DoD procurement policies and documentation standards.Qualifications & Skills:Experience in defense-related procurement and supplier negotiations.Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and defense contracting guidelinesStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required); Oracle experience preferred.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-paced environmentThis is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional looking to contribute to mission-critical operations in the defense sector.
