Buyer II

This position is responsible for the tactical activities in Procurement-to-Pay process to maintain the operational excellence. Support purchasing team to manage subcontractors. Perform F/G and /or direct material purchasing through the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Monitor subcontractor manufacture production output and on time delivery performance and prepare KPI reports.Reconcile consignment inventory with third party suppliers.Work with suppliers and warehouses to facilitate physical inventory transfer and virtual inventory transitions.Facilitate with Accounts payable and suppliers on payment issues.Plan procurement using MRP, item history and buyer judgment.Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics are representative of both an office and manufacturing environment and may include handling of potentially hazardous chemicals. Some time spent in production areas and warehouse. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:No strenuous physical activity. Typically, 20% of time in meetings; 80% of time at the desk on computer/doing paperwork/ on phone, doing analytical work. Walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time are routine to accomplish tasks in this role.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Position may be required to useEducation and Experience BA / BS degree in a related field with 1+ years' experience or High school degree with 5+ years' experience. Desirable certifications: APICS CPIM, CFPIM, or CIRM; or NAPM CPM.
