Commodity Manager

Arrowhead Talent Solutions is helping a manufacturing company find a Commodity Manager in the Canton, OH area. Experience in metals purchasing is a must.Purpose and ScopeThis position will develop both new and existing suppliers while giving attention to inventory management, assisting in developing and maintaining RFQ's, writing Purchase Orders as needed to ensure required raw material needs are met, and understanding and reviewing global pricing trends.ResponsibilitiesLeads monthly sourcing process for company.Develops sourcing strategy for materials.Negotiates annual contracts as well as procures materials.Leads Supplier inquiries.Performs analysis on materials.Develops and implements savings ideas for materials.Manages trials for different materials.Develops short- and long-term pricing forecast.Manages consignment materials.Identifies new suppliers and work to enhance existing supplier relationships.Work to create purchase orders to meet the monthly sourcing needs.Manage inventory levels to align with production levels.Address all supplier inquires on purchase orders, payments and deliveries.Provide analysis.Provide the business and suppliers with as accurate forecasting of material needed and pricing.Develop and institute trial of potential Materials with operations.Work with operations to report consignment information in a timely manner.Technical SkillsProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and TeamsAbility to communicate to all levels of the organizationFamiliarity with material management systemsKnowledge of key procurement best practicesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Business or Supply Chain with at least 5 years of experience in commercial purchasing and sourcing strategy.
