As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, build transformative relationships, and eliminate educational inequities to advance social justice.To put it simply, you will work to support the communication needs of students identified with speech impairment identification by completing full and individual evaluations for students to determine initial or continued eligibility for speech and language therapy services; provide direct therapy to a small caseload of students based on your clinical interests; and convey clear and concise updates regarding student progress towards speech goals to staff and families during ARD meetings. The speech language pathology team is expanding due to the continued growth of our schools and students, and the speech-language pathologist will join an enthusiastic, supportive and collaborative team.THE ROLEWhen you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:Administering, scoring and interpreting formal and informal speech and language assessment tools to determine initial and continued eligibility for speech therapy services and producing high quality evaluations for students that reflect thoughtful analysis of the student's strengths and weaknesses, and can be meaningfully explained to both families and other professionals;Participating in annual, triennial and initial IEP meetings for students identified as having a speech impairment in order to provide an update on progress, develop new goals and make recommendations to the ARD Committee;Collaborating with a bilingual speech language pathology assistant to ensure the provision of superior direct and indirect services to students with a speech impairment and development of activities that are evidence-based and uniquely tailored to student needs;Providing speech and language services to a small caseload of students with a wide variety of needs;Collaborating with family and staff to communicate speech therapy procedures, progress and opportunities for generalization beyond the therapy setting;Consistently documenting student performance through session notes and quarterly progress reports;Attending staff development in-services and workshops to enhance professional skills;Additional duties as assigned.THE PERSON We seek staff with a multitude of backgrounds, talents, interests, and ideas.
