We foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, technical excellence, and career growth.Job SummaryWe are seeking an Electrical Project Design Engineer to lead and execute electrical design projects, focusing on power distribution, switchgear, and system integration. This role requires strong technical expertise in electrical design, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality engineered solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Design & EngineeringDesign and develop electrical systems, switchgear configurations, and electrical schematics.Create and review technical documentation, including one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control logic.Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other relevant electrical codes and industry standards.Specify and select electrical components such as breakers, relays, transformers, and control systems.Work closely with field engineers, project managers, and clients to integrate design specifications into practical applications.Develop and implement PLC logic, automation systems, and HMI/SCADA interfaces for power system controls.Understand and apply network communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet, and fiber optics in system design.Project Management & ExecutionOversee end-to-end project execution from conceptual design to final commissioning.Define project scope, requirements, and deliverables in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.Coordinate with procurement teams to source necessary materials and ensure project timelines are met.Maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards to ensure successful implementation.Technical Support & TroubleshootingProvide engineering support during system installation, commissioning, and performance testing.Diagnose and resolve issues related to relay protection, PLCs, SCADA systems, and power automation.Analyze system performance data and recommend design optimizations for improved efficiency and reliability.Safety & ComplianceEnsure all designs meet industry regulations, client specifications, and workplace safety standards.Assist in the development of risk assessments, electrical safety protocols, and testing procedures.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.3+ years of experience in electrical design and project engineering, preferably in power distribution, switchgear, or industrial electrical systems.Required SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar design software.Strong understanding of electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and protection & control systems.Experience in relay coordination, short circuit analysis, load flow studies, and arc flash analysis.Familiarity with Siemens, ABB, Eaton, Schneider Electric, and similar power system equipment.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds.Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and wet environments.Ability to perform precision tasks in confined spaces and awkward positions for extended periods.Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward obtaining one.Certifications in power system analysis, relay protection, or electrical safety.Job CompetenciesAnalytical Thinking: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical design challenges.Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in engineering drawings and technical calculations.Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams, field engineers, and external clients.This job description outlines the core responsibilities and qualifications required but may evolve based on company needs.
