Event (or Conference) ManagerThe Secured Finance Network (SFNet) is seeking a full-time Event Manager to work remotely or at our NYC headquarters (in immediate proximity to Penn Station). Individuals interested in this position will assist with events. These programs range from one-day seminars to multi-day, multi-session conferences and our Annual Convention. Responsibilities of the position will include planning and scheduling events, locating venues, negotiating contracts with hospitality and service providers, working with sponsors, monitoring event budgets, managing travel arrangements for contracted trainers, and providing logistical support at all events.Prior experience in event planning and project managing is necessary. A willingness to learn and step into a fast-paced, detail-oriented job planning professional conferences is important; we will provide training and guidance.Quick studies, who are highly organized and driven, are encouraged to apply. We are looking for people who like working with a dynamic, fast-moving, interactive team. Most of us wear various hats in this organization, and we'll expect you to do the same. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Qualifications: Bachelor's degreeAt least five years of experience in an administrative position that includes communication, record keeping, and detail managementExperience working on contract negotiations, A/V orders, monitoring budgets, meeting room setups, logistics (including negotiating hotel contracts and managing room blocks, attrition, F&B minimums, etc.) is a plusThe ability to travel both nationally and internationallyStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience in a membership organization and with volunteers a plus;Computer literacy of MS Office products required and experience with CRM databases preferred.Commercial finance experience is a big plusDetailed Requirements:Coordinate with staff, volunteers and third-party resources on program development and logisticsCreate and update conference information in internal databaseCoordinate speaker/instructor and panel prep meetingsInitiate conference/seminar promotionsUpload and distribute meeting handoutsConduct conference/seminar evaluationsFacilitate bill payments and speaker reimbursementsPost conference reconciliationsManage costs to produce meetings that stay within budget.Coordinate with SFNet sales and sponsors to ensure execution of contacted deliverablesSend pertinent correspondence to speakers, vendors, sponsors and committee members. Work in conjunction with internal and external marketing staff to produce brochures, e-communications, website content and social media promotions.The SFNet is the international trade association dedicated to the asset-based lending, trade finance and factoring industries.
