Mechanical Drafter - Boulder, CONo C2C - No sponsorshipsMAJOR JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS• Provide 2-D drafting, 3-D modeling, and 3-D assembly support to the manufacturing andengineering departments for new products, cost reductions, product support and ETOs.• Determine the nature and scope of assigned projects as well as schedule parameters.• Perform necessary design calculations involving parts and materials, machine tolerances, andmanufacturing processes.• Create or change product documentation to support marketing and approval requirements.• Determine material quantities, create bills of material and part specifications for the designeffort.• Independently manage moderately complex ETO designs. This includes working directly withsuppliers, engineering and manufacturing.• Validate component and assembly work of external suppliers.• Validate component and assembly designs with engineering and other MMI departmentsthrough design/peer review and/or stage gate review process.• Direct, train and oversee the efforts of Technicians, Designers, and Drafters assigned to theproject.• Expert user of the CAD system, particularly in the areas of 2-D drafting and 3-D solid modelingand assembly. Requires the ability to devise new approaches and solutions to problemsidentified.• Must have a good working knowledge of state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturingprinciples, techniques, and applications.• Excellent working knowledge of part fabrication, manufacturing practices/processes, GD&Tand statistical tolerance stack analysis, along with the ability to apply that knowledge to part,assembly or tooling design.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: Associate's Degree in drafting technology or related field.EXPERIENCE: At least seven years of experience in the engineering drafting and designindustry with at least five years of mechanical or electrical drafting experience using a CADsystem. Using CAD software - working with NX and Teamcenter is a plus. Training/courseworkin GD&T is a plus. Using Microsoft Word and Excel.REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: None
