Position: Director of Rehab ServicesLocationOakland, CA and San Leandro (2 openings, 1 at each location)Pay Range$80,000 - $100,000 depending on experienceShift/HoursMonday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pmPOSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Rehab Services develops and supervises the therapeutic activity program with the goal of meeting the individualized recovery needs of members served. Responsible for supervising the Rehabilitation team and participates as a member of clinical management team.QUALIFICATIONSRequired:B.S./B.A. degree in Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance Therapy, Art Therapy, or Vocational Counseling or related fieldRegistered or eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist, Music Therapist, Art Therapist, Dance Therapist or Rec Therapist from the state of operationTwo (2) years of experience working in the rehabilitation field within behavioral healthOne (1) year of supervisory experienceMust be at least 18 years of ageMust be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employmentAll opportunities at the companies are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.Preferred:M.S./M.A. in Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance Therapy, Art Therapy, or Vocational Counseling or related field is preferredESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDemonstrates the companies mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholdersDirects and oversees clinical and administrative functioning of Rehabilitation Services department, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory and contractual requirements.Manages department budgetMaintains the activity schedule and works with other departments to integrate Rehabilitation Services in the facility schedulePromotes and maintains effective relationships and communications within the department and other departmentsParticipates in company quality initiativesIf employed at Inpatient program, must assist with restraint of members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention trainingIf employed at Outpatient program, must evade members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention trainingDuties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.SKILLSAbility to develop, complete, and maintain accurate records in accordance with Medi-Cal, county, and organizational standardsAbility to conduct and coach others in conducting behavioral health assessments, functional assessments, individualized members served plans, and outcome measuresAbility to provide and coach others in providing members served centered, culturally competent evidence-based treatmentsTime management and strong organizational skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to sit, push, pull, squat, kneel and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, twist, bend and do simple and power grasping.
