Our direct client is looking to hire a Biologist I (Assistant) in their growing team.Please find below the job description.Title : Biologist I (Assistant)Location : West Point, PA 19486Duration : 12 monthsRate : $28.65/hr on W2 without any benefitsResponsibilities:The Department of Infectious Disease and Vaccines at Merck Research Laboratories in West Point, PA is seeking a contractor to join a group of researchers dedicated to the discovery of novel anti-viral drugs and vaccines. The role will be primarily responsible for developing and performing in vitro assays in support of vaccine discovery. The successful candidate will:• Optimize and execute novel in vitro assays to evaluate vaccine candidates• Properly document and report experimental findings and assay protocols, and comply with all laboratory safety requirements• Function effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment• Be adept at learning new skills/techniquesQualifications:Required experience and skills:• BA/BS in biology or related discipline and two years of experience post-graduation, or MA/MS in biology or related discipline• Experience in tissue culture, molecular biology, or in vitro assays• Strong collaborative skills and attention to detailPosition Qualifications: (please provide below)Education Minimum Requirement: BA/BS in biology, biochemistry, virology, or related discipline.Years of experience: 1-2 yearPreferred Experience and Skills:• Design, development, and execution of in vitro assays• Industry experience or MS• Experience working with RNA or high throughput assay platformThanksGaurav GuptaSr. Pharma Recruitergaurav.gupta@(201) 331-8302
