JOB SUMMARY:The Buyer will be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies to provide the most cost-effective procurement of assigned commodities in alignment with current practices and strategies set forth by the Plant Manager and Sr Purchasing Manager. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager and some travel may be required.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to work with team members, clients, and suppliers.• An understanding of purchase order software platforms.• Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate while overseeing order placement and delivery.• Negotiate and administer supply agreements and contracts.• Negotiate pricing for all assigned materials and implement procedures and practices to minimize total delivered costs.• Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to analyze performance and make improvements.• Support the procurement team to work with suppliers and plants to resolve any supplier performance issues, including delivery, quality, or customer service.• Work with the Logistics Group to maintain cost effective and efficient movement of raw materials and equipment.• Attends supplier meetings.• Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, eight or more years of relevant experience may suffice.• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or related certification a plus.• Exhibit strong leadership, executive functioning, and problem-solving skills.• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning programs and tools.
