Of note, the Boston Business Journal has also voted Apnimed as one of the Best Places to Work in 2024!The ever-evolving US healthcare system is dynamic and complex, with the demand for high quality HEOR and RWE to support drug development as well as access and reimbursement decisions, continually increasing. We are building our new Value Outcomes Liaison (VOL) Field Team to act as the clinical and value outcomes experts to interface with payers, health systems including integrated delivery networks, research institutions and healthcare policy makers. In this role, you will accelerate patient access and transform healthcare delivery through innovative and impactful science, preparing for the launch of Apnimed's lead compound, AD109, for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Candidates selected to join the VOL Field Team will have a profound opportunity to have a major impact on AD109, make significant contributions to the organization and ultimately create positive change to those patient populations which we ultimately serve.The VOLs will report to the Vice President of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real-world Evidence (RWE), Medical Affairs, and will be based remotely.Key Job Duties include, but are not limited to: Customer Engagement ExcellenceIdentify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with payer decision-makers by understanding payer needs and priorities, developing and executing a territory strategic plan and customizing the engagement strategy to address their unique needsUtilize and effectively present clinical, humanistic and economic evidence as well as the value proposition of our products in a clear and compelling manner to the payer audienceDevelop and implement the field HEOR/RWE strategy in collaboration with internal and other field-based Medical and Commercial (Market Access, Medical Science Liaisons [MSLs], Sales) partners to provide exceptional customer experienceServe as a trusted resource, sharing expertise with customersInnovative PartnershipsCollaborate with payer decision-makers within a designated geographic "healthcare ecosystem" to understand and address their unique informational needs and challengesExplore opportunities for collaboration on value-based care and research initiatives to facilitate mutually beneficial partnershipsGather and communicate field payer insights, evidence gaps, horizon scanning of health care environmental trends to drive actionable recommendations and inform medical and commercial strategyPartner with field Market Access Account team as well as other field-based teams, including MSLs and Sales to ensure alignment, coordination and consistency in messaging in a compliant mannerUS Healthcare System and Payer ExpertiseServe as a knowledgeable resource for payer decision-makers and internal cross-functional teams on relevant disease states, value-based assessments, healthcare and payer policies, and other payer oriented emerging topicsStay abreast of emerging science, environmental market issues, pricing and regulatory actions relevant to regional and national payer decision-makersProvide training and support to internal teams on payer and value-based healthcare conceptsOperational ExcellenceSupport strategic planning and tactical execution of HEOR/RWE, Medical Affairs and Commercial plansEnsure Field Medical Affairs team adherence to company policies, regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements in all aspects of payer and HCP interactions and scientific exchangeAdhere to all Apnimed compliance guidance, policies and procedures, the PhRMA Code, HIPAA and all relevant FDA guidanceEducationAdvanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, MS)7+ years of scientific or health-related field experience in various therapeutic areas; direct field payer experience preferredWork-related Skills & Experience: At least 7 years of experience in a scientific or health-related field-based customer facing role in industry; payer experience preferred.
