DWTSurge Contract IP Litigation Attorney (Mid-Level) Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a part-time mid-level contract attorney with experience handling IP or commercial litigation for engagement through the firm's flexible and alternative-track attorney program, DWTSurge. This position can be fully remote, but there is a preference for candidates in the Los Angeles area who have flexibility to work on-site on an occasional, as-needed basis. This position will work with the firm's Technology practice group and will be dedicated to supporting IP litigation matters for DWT clients. This contract position will be part-time, with an anticipated average of 20-25 hours of work per week. While the engagement is for an initial 6-month contract term, we anticipate the work to remain relatively steady and there is a possibility of renewal for additional terms for successful candidates. We are looking for attorneys interested in part-time, flexible, and remote work, and who seek to establish a long-term arrangement working with DWT on an exclusive basis. Candidates located and barred in California are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have:5+ years of litigation experience in a large law firm setting while representing corporate clients. Experience at a top Am Law firm is preferred. Residency and active bar admission in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NY, NJ, NM, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC. Attorneys must have active bar admission in their state of residence and a state in which DWT maintains an office. For candidates in the Los Angeles, CA area, flexibility to work on-site in the firm's office, as needed, is preferred. Demonstrated experience with all types of IP litigation, including patent, trademark and copyright, with an emphasis on soft IP skills. Experience managing and performing discovery and e-discovery tasks. Close attention to detail, with the ability to catch errors and produce high-quality work product with minimal supervision. Ability to work with DWT on an exclusive basis. Availability to work 20-25 hours/week and flexibility to potentially increase hours, as needed. For candidates who are based in other states and time zones, this position requires supporting Pacific Time Zone business hours while working remotely. Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to produce high quality work product in a high volume practice. Exceptional client service skills, as well as the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner.Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail and strong time and task management skills, and ability to produce high quality work product with minimal supervision and direction.Please note that this is a temporary contract position managed by DWT's flexible contract attorney program, DWTSurge. Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience and skill level (see below). This is a non-benefitted part-time role.
