Job Title: BiologistDuration: 12 months (Possible Extension/Conversion)Location: New York, NY (100% Onsite)Responsibilities:The person will support the process development of novel therapeutic candidates by performing hands-on, bench-level research, buffer preparation, sample processing, aliquoting, ELN documentation, batch record processing, and data analyses. The candidate will work on setting up lab platform systems ranging from inventory of various critical samples to equipment maintenance. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with the Analytical Development team by being the liaison for sample submissions. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. This is an in-person job and the selected candidate is expected to be onsite during business hours.Key ResponsibilitiesPassage and split cells are regularly used in various lab studies.Perform PCR on samples generated by the Process Development team.Assist in rBVs and AAV production studies and batch production.Prepare aliquots for study samples and manage the -80C/LN2 freezer inventory.Keep detailed notebooks and reports describing experimental methods/results.Manage the maintenance of equipment and instruments.Help other team members with day-to-day lab activities.Critically assess data generated from diverse experimental approaches in cell and molecular biologyQualifications:Bachelors with 1+ years/Masters with 0+ years of laboratory research experience in academia/industrySolid understanding of principles of common molecular and cellular biology protocols and techniquesExperience performing basic techniques in molecular biology and cell biology, such as cell culture, aseptic technique, PCRDetail-oriented, with experience handling high-value biological samplesPreferred:Prior research experience with protein expression systemsExperience in Sf9/HEK cell cultureAAV gene therapy experienceExperience in ddPCRBench scale bioreactor experience
