Senior Estimator

Job Description:My Client, a leading design-build construction company in Dublin, OH, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost assessments, bid preparation, and pre-construction planning for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating within the construction industry, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop accurate and competitive bids.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to determine project scope, schedule, and cost projections.Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budgets.Identify and assess potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.Maintain and update historical cost databases and industry pricing trends to improve estimation accuracy.Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations as needed.Assist in contract negotiations and change order evaluations.Qualifications:Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).Proficiency in estimating software (such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
