Whether our client is corporate, individual, not-for-profit, or Fortune 100, our goal is an exceptional experience, from concept to completionAs Project Manager, you are leading the coordination, preparation and execution of event documentation for the projects taking place within the George R. Brown Convention Center. You are the liaison between the operations team and sales team to ensure that the client is getting the best possible experience through a high level set of services. The Production Manager ensures flawless budgetary, strategic, and technical execution and facilitates communication among sales producers, technical & creative directors, media producers, and designers. The PM leads all aspects of project management, pre-production services, logistical planning and on-site management of events; secures and manages staff, vendors, and resources to meet client and staff expectations; and ensures that the financial requirements of the company are met by each project. We want to provide a resource that allows more of a partnership rather than a traditional in-house company. Houston First Corporation (HFC) is the official destination marketing organization which promotes the region as a destination for tourism and convention business.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and supervision of production budgets Oversight and coordination of contractors, unions, vendors, and freelance staffPrioritization of internal resourcesThe creation of and follow up on detailed production schedulesInitiation of quality control procedures throughout the entire project processArticulate in communication with the venue, and management of on-site activitiesLeadership of regular meetings and calls to capture best practices and incorporate those into workflowOversight of budgets to maximize gross profits and minimize project overrun with the sales teamSupport the sales team in client communication, internal communication, budgeting, and expense centers Adherence to standard operating procedures and event planning protocolsOversight of production and technical walkthroughsQualifications5+ years in a production company, marketing firm, creative agency, or relevant consulting firmManagement experience desirable, including budget and financial management, team leadership, employee development, cross-organization collaborationLeadership experience in show production with a show-must-go-on attitude (theater or live music productions preferred)Management style focused on leading processes rather than managing people Ability to work as part of an innovative creative teamResults driven passion for the work, and pride in a job well doneProactive and independent in a self-managed, project-based environmentEffective communication and facilitation skills over multiple projects and prioritiesComprehensive, big-picture understanding as well as a grasp of fine detailsThorough understanding of and design experience with structural and mechanical construction for the stage, including materials, techniques, and rigging; carpentry experience preferredMicrosoft Office experience required (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)Proficient with Google DocsFamiliarity in Vectorworks and/or AutoCADWhat You'll BringYou're a strategic thinker, an expert communicator, and a go-getter with a proven track record of exceeding goals.
