By bringing together good science with great people our customized solutions shape the future of our ever-changing world.Position SummaryThe Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for handling compliance and regulatory tasks related to trade, risk management, and operational support within the Trade Compliance division. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local trade regulations, including EPA, TSCA, DOT, and other relevant standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance OversightPrepare, review, and submit TSCA registrations to the EPA ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Complete operational compliance checklists and update management on compliance issues.Enforce adherence to all relevant regulations (EPA, TSCA, DOT, FDA) and communicate updates or changes with team members.Manage and maintain compliance-related documentation and databases accurately.Import and Export ManagementSupport accurate classification for imports and verify import/export documentation, including ECCN and tariff codes.Obtain necessary documentation from suppliers (e.g., SDS, CAS numbers) to ensure regulatory compliance.Prepare and verify import/export filings, including shipper's declarations and dangerous goods declarations.Data & Database MaintenanceMaintain an up-to-date database of product details, suppliers, and compliance information.Ensure timely and accurate updates to all compliance databases.Training & Regulatory UpdatesStay informed on regulatory changes and share updates with team members.Support and participate in compliance training programs to keep staff informed of standards and obligations.Quality Assurance & DocumentationRegularly review import/export files and documentation to ensure compliance.File and archive trade compliance documents and support procedural improvements.Regulatory ComplianceMaintain adherence to all federal, state, and international regulatory requirements.Consult management on any compliance concerns related to new imports or exports.Additional DutiesAct as a backup for colleagues in trade compliance and administrative roles.Continually seek improvements to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a relevant field, 2-4 years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.Experience in preparing and submitting TSCA registrations to the EPAAt least three years of experience in trade compliance, with a focus on regulatory requirements such as TSCA, EPA, DOT, and international trade laws.Proficiency in classifying imports and exports, ensuring accuracy in ECCN and tariff code verification.
